Senior Project is one of the unique experiences that Tabor Academy has offered. While participates Senior Project, one can truly concentrates and develops his or her own interest. Although I have wanted to do Korean traditional performance since when I was a sophomore, I have been busy with routine of Tabor life past three years and never have had a chance to create a performance. Since my senior project with So Yeon and Hee Sun is mainly about Korean culture and music, I believe that senior project will offer me a great chance to not only learn about Korean culture but also inform to others.
Next week, we start to do Senior project. Our senior project is a musical production. The musical production basically will be consisted of Korean traditional songs, dances and combination of Korean and western instruments such as violin, flute and piano. Playing instruments, signing and creativity will be potential in this production. I want to say the theme of this project will be “Harmony” As Western and Korean cultures merged, the audience will experience “Harmony” through the performance. Not only audience, but also I and other students will learn “unity” and “teamwork” while we creating this performance.
The musical production has several acts. In the act, we will make sounds with different kinds of instruments and materials. We will use Korean traditional instruments and tools that we can get from Korea. We purchased all the materials that we need from Korea during the spring vacation.In between acts, we will put video clip which is about Korean traditional culture and Korean modern life. We visited the place which is designated as important cultural property and urban areas to take pictures during the spring break. The purpose of making video clips with different topic is that we want to show not only diversity of Korean cultures but also coexistence of old and new cultures.
Although it is sad that I am going to drop this class, I wish that many people in this class will watch our senior project..

I am really happy that you can finally do a senior project on something that truly interests you. Your project is a very good idea, musically merging together western and korean ideas. In a way, it is like Tabor, as it also merges together people from every nation, harmonizing and unifying the students. It is good that you can teach students who may not know alot about the Korean culture an interesting aspect of it, while yourself learning about the western traditions. I wish I would have done a senior project, but from the sound of your ideas, yours will turn out really well, and I look forward to see it!
This is what Tabor’s theme of globalization is all about this year. I agree with Tory that it will be very interesting to learn about Korean culture because I haven’t been introduced to it before. I am thinking about doing a senior project for next year although I haven’t got the faintest idea as to what I should do. I’ll miss you in our class though but I can’t wait to see the result of your project, and to see the blending of cultures occur in this one performance!
Your project sounds like a great idea. I will deffinetly be interested in coming to see your senior project because I don’t know much about Korean culture and it would be interesting to know something about it. It will be good because you seem to be very intereted in what you’re doing and you seem to be very prepared. If you work on your sentence structure this could be a very good blog because it interests the reader and explains a senior project that we will be watching in the near future. Good job!

This is a very well writing blog that explains in very clear detail what you are going to do for your project. I really like the whole senior project idea I just never got around to setting one up or finding something that would be worth my while, it seems you have found something very interesting. I hope the dance performance goes well and works in perfect harmony. I have to say that is one of the cooler more interesting ideas I have heard so far this year about senior project ideas.
Senior projects are one thing that Tabor does well. Senior projects provide a chance for students to explore ideas and concepts which are not provided in the classroom. They are a great opportunity which many kids take advantage of and rightfully so. At the end of the year I am always pleased to see students from every grade go out and support the final presentations. This is a great portion of what makes Tabor a close knit community. As a senior this year I personally feel a connection to the kids completing a project and hope them the best success. I can not wait to see what our class is capable of when given a little freedom.
